Surveys
Refurbishment surveys are needed before any refurbishment work is carried out in a building / premises that was built before 2000.
This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the area where the refurbishment work will take place. The survey will be fully intrusive and involve destructive inspection, as necessary, to gain access to all areas, including those that may be difficult to reach.
A refurbishment survey may also be required in other circumstances, e.g. when more intrusive maintenance and repair work will be carried out or for plant removal or dismantling.
To avoid any delays to your project; surveys should be arranged in advance of your work to allow time to review and plan any asbestos remedial or removal works before your project start date.
THE ASBESTOS SURVEY SHOULD BE THE FIRST STAGE OF YOUR REFURBISHMENT WORKS - DON'T GET CAUGHT WITHOUT ONE!
